Geography and History of the World, Semester 2

Geography and History of the World, Semester 2 is designed to enable students to use geographical skills and historical concepts to deepen their understanding of major global themes including the origin and spread of world religions; exploration; conquest, and imperialism; urbanization; and innovations and revolutions. Specifically, students use research tools to ask question, acquire relevant information, use primary sources, and produce maps, timelines, and other graphic representations. Key concepts include change over time, cultural landscape, diffusion, human-environmental interactions, physical systems, and spatial organization and variation. The course design will encourage and support the development of critical thinking skills and lifelong learning, and to help prepare Indiana students for the 21st Century.

Geography and History of the World through Global Campus is available to students who have not successfully completed Semester 2 of this course. For Center Grove High School students, this course is used for credit recovery purposes only during the summer. Students outside of the district may be eligible to take Geography and History of the World for initial credit.

Fulfills a Social Studies requirement for the General, Core 40, Core 40 with Academic Honors and Core 40 with Technical Honors diplomas or counts as an Elective for any diploma
