Algebra 2, Semester 2

Algebra 2 is a course that expands on Algebra 1 concepts, and provides further development of the concept of a function. The expanded topics of the course include the theorems and algorithms of Algebra, polynomials and polynomial functions, rational exponents, the complex numbers, sequences and series, and the properties of graphs. Further development of probability, with introductions of permutations, combinations, and matrices will be included along with exponential functions.  Problem solving emphasizing practical applications of Algebra will be explored through a variety of problem-solving techniques.  A graphing calculator is required.  It is recommended that you have passed Algebra 1 with a C-. For Center Grove High School students, this course is used for credit recovery purposes.

Fulfills the Core 40, Core 40 with Academic Honors and Core 40 with Technical Honors diplomas.

Requirements
Students must have access to an iPad (or comparable device) with the following apps: Notability, Educreations, and Canvas. Students will need access to a TI-83 or higher graphing calculator. In addition, students are strongly encouraged to have access to a reliable computer with high-speed internet access.

Final Exam
Yes, an on-site final exam is required for this course. A valid photo ID is required. Details will be provided by the course instructor.
